What is the Luco cancellation policy?

Luco allows hosts to choose among three standardized cancellation policies (Flexible, Moderate, and Strict) that we enforce to protect both hosts and guests. The Long Term cancellation policy automatically applies to all reservations of 28 nights or more.

Each listing and reservation on our site will clearly state the cancellation policy. Guests may cancel and review any penalties by viewing their travel plans and then clicking ‘Cancel’ on the appropriate reservation. A host will be able to see the number of reservations a guest has cancelled over the previous 12 months when the guest submits a request to book.


  • Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.

  • Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.

  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Luco within 24 hours of check-in.

  • Luco will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.

  • A reservation is officially cancelled when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Change or Cancel.

  • Cancellation policies may be superseded by the Guest Refund Policy, extenuating circumstances, or cancellations by Luco for any other reason permitted under the Terms of Service. Please review these exceptions.

 

Flexible: Full refund within a limited period

  • For a full refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made a full 24 hours prior to listing’s local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in. For example, if check-in is on Friday, cancel by Thursday of that week before check in time.

  • If the guest cancels less than 24 hours before check-in, the first night is non-refundable.

  • If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the accommodation fees for the nights not spent 24 hours after the official cancellation are fully refunded.


 

 

 

 

 

Moderate: Full refund within a limited period

  • For a full refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made five full days prior to listing’s local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in. For example, if check-in is on Friday, cancel by the previous Sunday before check in time.

  • If the guest cancels less than 5 days in advance, the first night is non-refundable but 50% of the accommodation fees for remaining nights will be refunded.

  • If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, 50% of the accommodation fees for the nights not spent 24 hours after the cancellation occurs are refunded.

 

Strict: Full refund if cancellation is within 48 hours of booking

  • For a full refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check-in.

  • For a 50% refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made 7 full days prior to listing’s local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in, otherwise no refund. For example, if check-in is on Friday, cancel by Friday of the previous week before check in time.

  • If the guest cancels less than 7 days in before check-in date or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.

 

Super Strict 30 Days: 50% refund up until 30 days prior to check in

  • Note: The Super Strict cancellation policy applies to special circumstances and is by invitation only.

  • For a 50% refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made 30 full days prior to listing’s local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in.

  • If the guest cancels less than 30 days in advance, the nights not spent are not refunded.

  • If guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are not refunded.

 

Super Strict 60 Days: 50% refund up until 60 days prior to check in

  • Note: The Super Strict cancellation policy applies to special circumstances and is by invitation only.

  • For a 50% refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made 60 full days prior to listing’s local check in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check in.

  • If the guest cancels less than 60 days in advance, the nights not spent are not refunded.

  • If guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are not refunded.

 

Long Term: First month not refundable, 30 day notice for cancellation

  • Note: The Long Term cancellation policy applies to all reservations of 28 nights or more.

  • If the guest books a long term reservation and decides to cancel the reservation before the start date, the first month of the reservation is paid to the host in full and not refunded to the guest.

  • If the guest books a reservation and decides to cancel the reservation during their stay, the guest must use the online alteration tool in order to agree to a new checkout date. Regardless of the checkout date chosen, the guest is required to pay the host for the 30 days following the cancellation date, or up to the end date of the guest’s original reservation if the remaining portion of the original reservation is less than 30 days.


 

A host\'s cancellation policy can be found in the Cancellations section of their listing page. Guests will also be asked to agree to the host\'s cancellation policy when they make a booking.

You can cancel a reservation and review any penalties by going to “Trips” in the Luco app, then tapping Change or Cancel on the appropriate reservation.
